Two diehard gear head families embarking on our new adventure in offroad racing.   Luke and Jake have been turning wrenches since they could walk, never satisfied unless they were pushing the limits of their machines.    For Luke it was racing quads at monster truck shows all over the world.  For Jake growing up in his Grandfather’s shop instilled a love of Volkswagens and mechanics.

Red Tent Racing was born from a dream of racing the Mint 400.   We gained personal notoriety in 2021 when we attended our first race.   In typical Montana fashion we pulled into the camping lot next to the multi-million-dollar race teams in their campers and motor homes and set up our Red Tent.   This tent was actually an ice house which confused the desert folks on many levels. They told us this was the camping area and we camped like Montanans.   We quickly became known as the Red Tent Guys.   We leaned into our uniqueness, drawing groups of racers and their families together to hang out around our campfire and talk racing.   The name stuck, and we decided that no matter what it took we would return to the Mint, this time as racers.
